The Mission Of Resurrection Health
Do you ever wonder why you often feel exhausted, run down and stressed? Do you wish you had more energy, vigor and desire to enjoy your life? Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought:“I should be doing better physically and mentally, why can’t I get motivated to look and feel better?”. Janelle Pattengale, founder and owner of Resurrection Health has also shared those thoughts and feelings which motivated her to start her own wellness company. Janelle has created a business which was borne out of a desire to share her knowledge, skills and the ideals of optimizing health for friends, family and the community.
Janelle and her husband, Curt Pattengale, are the parents of two children and reside in Rossville IN. Janelle was inspired to be a Registered Nurse by watching her mom, who is also a Registered Nurse, deal with chronic illness as well as her interest in visiting elderly neighbors as a child. Janelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St Elizabeth School of Nursing in 2008 and has worked as an ICU nurse, managed an On-site clinic for employers and worked as a school nurse in Rossville until starting her own Concierge Wellness business in 2020.
Janelle has had a long-time interest in fitness and, besides her jobs in Nursing, worked part time as a fitness/lifestyle coach before starting Resurrection Health. “I always loved fitness and what it has done for me with my personal goals. I felt an ache to help others. When COVID came along, I could see a shift in the culture of people realizing the need for co-morbidity management. Behavioral changes through lifestyle coaching, which includes good nutrition, exercise and fitness, can greatly improve a person’s health and energy. I wanted to provide a company that had a variety of wellness options under one roof,” Janelle said.
Although Resurrection Health has grown rapidly in the last 3 years with mobile visits and various temporary clinic sites in the area, the dream of having services provided under one roof will be realized on Aug 5, 2023, with a Grand Opening of the new facility which is located at 3830 South St, Lafayette. The hours of the Grand Opening are 11-4, all are welcome to come tour our new facility and meet our health care providers.
The new Resurrection Health facility offers many services for people seeking optimal health and well-being of body, mind and spirit. “We are a ‘Wellness Spa’ that offers all the tools and resources to fully optimize a person’s health under one roof. We provide hydration and IV vitamin therapy, fitness and nutrition coaching, hormone optimization, Botox treatments, Cold Plunge/Fit Sauna, Esthetics and massage. Our IV vitamin therapy provides the best route of administration and absorption for our body to receive nutrients. Since our bodies are made of cells and we know our cells need hydration and nourishment, we know that IV vitamin therapy is the best way to enhance those levels without the side effects of poor gut health or absorption issues. Our facility is a ‘one stop shop’ for whatever path best suits your own needs,” Janelle said.
Besides the new on-site facility for Resurrection Health, mobile visits for individuals, parties or home visits for clients who are ill and would like to avoid an urgent care of ER visit will continue to be offered. “One of the coolest pieces is that while pivoting into an on-site location we will always have home visits available because we realize the value of having an RN come to one’s home, especially when they are ill. This home visit can minimize the ER costs and the ER wait while we are able to have that expertise and clinical knowledge in the comfort of a client’s own home. We are also fortunate to have Dr Autherine Whyte, who is a board-certified MD, help us support and grow the mission of Resurrection Health,” Janelle shared.
Janelle says she could not have started and maintained her thriving business without the support and encouragement of many people in the last few years. “I could not have done this by myself, my parents and family have been a great help in many ways. My husband Curt has been at my side since day one and has encouraged me through all the fears to do this. I am very blessed,” Janelle shared.
Curt says Janelle’s passion for helping others is grounded in her Faith and he is continually amazed by her efforts and the energy she gives to serve others. “Janelle really has a heart for helping people, it is a drive and a passion, and she doesn’t hold anything back. Janelle truly loves people and wants to provide tools to help them feel better and to succeed. Our Christian faith teaches that we are to serve and love others and Janelle takes that to the next level. We have worked together on a lot of projects over the years, and it just works. It helps that our faith gives us a perspective not to rely on the world because the world will always let us down. Trusting in God gives us hope and helps us see the bigger picture,” Curt said.
Anyone who knows Janelle realizes she is passionate about her vision to support others in their wellness journey and her enthusiasm is contagious. Renee Bunch RN works full time for Resurrection Health and was Janelle’s first hire in June of 2022. “Janelle is an extremely humble, passionate, strong-willed, determined and hard-working health care professional. I have known her since we were kids and I know she is also a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, friend and child of God. Janelle practices what she preaches, she is real and authentic and if that is not admirable, respectable and exactly what our medical community needs then I don’t know what is! Janelle empowers me professionally and personally to continually strive to be better, love harder and choose a healthier lifestyle,” Renee shared.
Resurrection Health believes striving for optimal health is the best investment you can make in yourself and for those you love. “I believe we are put on this Earth to serve others. If you are healthy, you are functioning at an optimal rate to serve others which makes you a better Mom, Dad, Husband, Wife, Friend or Co-worker when you have good health,” Janelle said.
Janelle credits her relationship with God as her motivation to start the Resurrection Health company. “Christ is the foundation of the care I deliver as a Registered Nurse. Christ is the foundation of the company and the reason I named it Resurrection Health. Like everyone, I have had trials as a teenager and a young adult and what Jesus has done for me, my relationship with Him and the hope that He’s given me is something I want to be able to share with others. Scripture talks a lot about this one ‘vessel’ we have been given, that is our body, mind and soul. If we don’t take good care of this vessel, we can’t serve one another and live out the mission of what we are here to do as followers of Jesus Christ,” Janelle believes.
One thing many of us struggle with in our demanding, fast-paced world is fatigue, stress and lack of energy. “With the nature of our society, there is going to be stress. We don’t always eat properly, we may not be moving correctly or exercising enough, we may have chronic illness or immunity problems. Resurrection Health has the diagnostic tools available at our new clinic to access your bloodwork and make recommendations based upon your levels for IV nutrition therapy. We are also looking into ways of optimizing hormonal levels in the most bioidentical way (bioidentical means the most human like way to receive a hormone) which is at a molecular level. A bioidentical hormone is able to be received as it was designed as a normal hormone,” Janelle said.
An urgent care clinic will also be opening soon at the new facility that will offer point of care testing for strep, influenza etc. and will have a Nurse Practitioner available for treatment. (Cash pricing/HSA accounts).
The last few decades have seen a shift away from family-owned medical communities and Janelle strives to provide an atmosphere where clients and staff feel empowered by her passion and serving others. “I would like people who might be interested to know that the staff are all relatable humans and that is at the heart of our care. Our mission is to make sure people feel heard, that we take the time to listen and if we don’t have the resources, we are going to help them find what they need. We are a team at Resurrection Health. We are not like every other medical clinic in many ways,” Janelle stated.
We hope you can join us for our Grand Opening on Aug 5. Please come and bring a friend! If you are unable to come, please check out our Resurrection Health website for services or give us a call at 765-427-9100. We would love to talk to you and share ideas of ways of optimizing your health so you can enjoy life and serve those you love more fully.
The motto at Resurrection Health is “Nourishing Cells, Nourishing Souls” and we take that very seriously. While it is of upmost importance to assist you in taking good care of your body, more importantly we care about you as a whole person, body and soul. You are not just a body to be nourished but you are a unique and beautiful person to be loved.
We look forward to meeting you and discussing ideas for your individual needs and lifestyle.
